PRO-Ohio System Additions and Updates for the 2009-2010 School Year
New in the PRO-Ohio Web Assessments
- Progress Report--Overview with Pacing Guide. This new report summarizes district, school, grade, class and student’s usage and progress.
- Bookmark feature. Students can stop, save a test, and exit the test. Then return and continue with the test at a later time.
- Students can access Constructed Response (open-ended) Questions by clicking on the (r) at the end of a learning outcome on the student test page.
- PRO-Ohio "Constructed Response Booklets" containing all open-ended student questions and teacher rubrics are available separately.
- A quick Standards-based review is included for every subject. It starts at the end of the Student’s Available Tests. It contains 3 questions from each indicator/Benchmark within each Standard.
- Teachers can select the questions from each indicator assessment that they want the students to see. They can also select STATIC or RANDOM delivery of the questions. The STATIC selection is ideal for printing the selected questions and having students complete the test in class; then taking their answers to the lab and recording their responses in the same order as the printed test. This is accessed through the Teacher: Testkeys module.
- Comment on Question or Comment on Test: Teachers can comment on a test or each question and have an automatic email send to the CEO of PRO-Ohio for immediate attention. This is accessed through the Teacher: Testkeys.
- Student data can be transferred from Class to Class, School to School or District to District (this is a Principal or Admininstrator function).
New in the PRO-Ohio School Reports Program
- Administrators can generate a School Summary of Academic Content Standards Subgroup (Demographic) Report. This report compares the scores for all students taking a particular test with students in each selected subgroup, including male-female comparisons for all schools.
- A new export button in the Reports List Menu allows easy export of either student scores or student pre-post test scores to a spreadsheet.
PRO-Ohio Updates
- 5th grade Social Studies and Science will be testing Benchmarks this year.
- We have added an additional 1,000 questions to the question bank in grades 2-10 for math, reading, science and social studies. Approximately 1000 additional questions will be added this coming year.
- Customized District Assessments. Districts have the option to add their own questions. For example, districts that adopt a new textbook can blend the Publisher's questions with ours.
PRO-Ohio Works with Turning Point
- PRO-Ohio and Turning Point (student response systems or sometimes called the "Clicker") are working hand-in-hand this year. Short-cycle web questions have been converted to Turning Point format and grouped by indicator. Turning Point Clickers permit classroom web assessments that integrate with the PRO-Ohio web reporting system.
Further information and details on the topics listed above are available on the PRO-Ohio Support page in the various PRO-Ohio User Manuals.
